Center of Excellence Reconstructive Foot FellowsDr. Gary Peter Jolly and the staff at The Center for Reconstructive Foot Surgery provide fellowship training to surgeons who have completed their residencies in foot and ankle surgery. Dr. Jolly's fellows spend a year studying reconstructive and revisional surgery with Dr. Jolly. During the course of their training they work with Dr. Jolly in the operating room, evaluate patients in the clinic, and engage in independent research in the area of reconstructive foot surgery. All of Dr. Jolly's previous fellows are in clinical practice around the country and continue engage in scholarly activities.
The best criterion for evaluating a surgical practice is the quality of the results, which the surgeon obtains. Good results are the product of several factors. The foremost factor is the surgeon's scientific knowledge. A list of Dr. Jolly's publication may be found below. Secondly is the surgeon's ability to communicate with his patient so that the patient is at ease, is informed and can make good decisions about his or her care. Finally, one of the best indicators of a surgeon's competence is the esteem of his colleagues. Dr. Jolly is the specialist to whom most other podiatrists refer their more difficult cases for second opinions, definitive treatment and reconstructive or revisional surgery.
Doctor Jolly is a past president of The American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons, a group of over 6,000 doctors, and he remains active in that group by participating as a lecturer and educator in the many conferences and meetings which are sponsored by The College. |
